+ + + ThreethirtyYeah and AMV Talpa sign a co-publishing contract  (11/2008) + + +

 ThreethirtyYeah/AMVTalpa

The Hamburg publishing company ThreethirtyYeah Publishing has signed a co-publishing contract with AMV Talpa. ThreethirtyYeah partner and songwriter Daniel Nitt, who is currently active in Stockholm with his writing / producer partner Richard Darell (AMV Talpa) under the name of THE MONOTWINS, already experienced significant international success despite the only recent cooperation. In August 2008 he reached the Top 5 of the Japanese single charts with the artist Nana Tanimura.

"AMV Talpa is our absolute favourite partner, as the great hunger for success and enthusiasm is tangible", says ThreethirtyYeah  manager Martin Frei. Jens-Markus Wegener, Managing

Director of AMV Talpa, is also "very happy about the future cooperation because the visible motivation and energy is inspiring."

In the past years Daniel Nitt was active as songwriter, producer and live keyboard player. Besides releases for DSDS-winner Tobias Regner, the King Family (in cooperation with  Dieter Falk) and Jörn Schlönvoigt, Nitt managed a recording studio in the Naidoo-Herberger Kreativzelle and worked there on the sevenfold platinum album "Telgramm für X" with Xavier Naidoo. Nitt also toured as keyboard player and musical director for national and international acts like Dante Thomas and Joana Zimmer.

+ + + AMV Talpa has a new Partner: Edition by Mr. Kai Lofthus + + +

AMV Talpa has entered into a 50/50 partnership with music industry executive Kai Lofthus in an effort to discover and develop of songs, songwriters and producers.

The Hamburg-based publisher will provide its administrative resources and international network of sub-publishers to support the new repertoire stream, named Edition by Mr. Lofthus.

Lofthus (37) worked in radio and music business journalism for 12 years, including as Billboard's Nordic Bureau Chief and a correspondent with Music & Media (1997-2002), and as a product manager in the Norwegian music industry for 10 years, where he signed deals with artists such as Susanne Sundfor (Top 3 and a mainstay on the Norwegian album chart for 23 weeks in 2007, and voted Bets Female Artist in the Norwegian Grammy Awards) and marketed records by artists like Kate Havnevik, Karin Park, Scooter, the Rasmus, and Timbuktu. Last year, he initiated and co-wrote "F***deg", the

Norwegian version af Anna David's Danish no. 1 hit "F***deg", witch went no. 1, was on the Norwegian singles chart for 19 weeks, awarded plantinum status, and nominated as Hit of the Year in the Norwegian Grammy Awards.

Primarily based in Oslo, Norway, Lofthus will continue to own and operate the label DIG Music, which recently became a member of the IFPI and was restructured from a sole enterprise into a private stockholding company.

+ + + AMV Talpa Musikverlag signs two new high class writers (June 2008) + + +

Jens-Markus Wegener/ Alan GlassIn our endeavour to continue defying the difficult business conditions on the music market, AMV TALPA unflinchingly continues - in 2008 too - to improve our own creative structures and place quality songs via our international network - either at DSDS or in worldwide advertising campaigns. This implies high quality authors - and that's why AMV TALPA proudly announces two new exclusive author agreements.

Alan Glass, an American living in London, decided to move to AMV Talpa because he values the personal support of a great A&R-Team. Glass wrote hits for Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, George Benson, Jermaine Stewart as well as for Earth Wind & Fire, Sheena Easton and Imagination.

Since settling in London he successfully worked with Maxi Priest, the Lighthouse Family, Aswad,

Worlds Apart, Human Nature and Caught In TJens-Markus Wegener/ Thomas Hanreich/Jörg Ingram Hillerhe Act. In Germany he reached success with two titles

he wrote for the second album of No Angels.

Jens-Markus Wegener, director of AMV TALPA, commented on the deal: „I am particularly proud about this signing. Alan has been a top writer for 25 years and a personal friend of many years – and something like the flagship of our authors' fleet.“

And Alan Glass added: „The team around Jens-Markus always convinces me by its passion for

music. I hadn't had that much fun in my work for a long time.“

With Thomas Hanreich one of the most versatile German writers returns to AMV Talpa. At the recent

signing of the contract Jörg Hiller, A&R Chef of AMV Talpa, remembered the mutual past successes

with VIVID, when their lead singer Hanreich started out in his career. The band was awarded an Echo

in 1998 and reached many TOP 30 spots. With his solo project THOM. Hanreich reached the

Radio-TOP-20 in Japan. And Hanreich also notched up success as a score writer for various Wim Wenders films and the current cinema hit „Sommer“.

As co-writer with national and international greats like e.g. Carmen Rizzo, Valgeir Sigurdsson (Björk), Tim Lauer, Ray Garvey (Reamonn), Sasha, Cosmo Klein, Roland Spremberg and Stefan Gade, Thomas Hanreich worked on many hit albums and his song „Principle of Joy“ became the signature

song of a worldwide BMW-advertising campaign.

Jörg-Ingram Hiller said: „With Thomas, the first internationally successful AMV-author returns to AMV.

This surely illustrates the quality of our cooperation.“

+++AMV Talpa Musikverlag presents the synch database "Brilliant Tracks"+++

Inspired by the international success of worldwide advertising campaigns for BMW, Apple, Coca-Cola,

Nike and Audi, Daniela Gassert, Creative Manager at AMV TALPA, presented the new synch platform

"Brilliant Tracks" at the beginning of the week.

This clear online music database with the great design gives all those in the advertising, film, TV, games etc. worldwide looking for music the opportunity to discover the original published titles by AMV Talpa as well as a selected sub-published catalogue.

After a short registration and confirmation from AMV, the users of the B2B-database can for example listen to full length songs, search by keywords and create projects to which they can add individual songs in a type of ‘watch list’. „Brilliant Tracks“ - which right now includes more than 1200 high quality copyrights - is updated every week to enable reaction to all the new trends.

Daniela Gassert said in the presentation: „I look forward to working with this promising tool. Microsoft US and UK, who I introduced the concept at MIDEM to, are already excited.“

Jens-Markus Wegener, General Manager of AMV Talpa, said at MUSEXPO in Los Angelese: „Brilliant Tracks is state of the art. The technology of our partners at its base, manages 100 000 fully digitalised titles with a comparable use. We expect a significant growth of our worldwide synch income with „Brilliant Tracks“, above all because we often can clear the masters at the request of the advertising and film partners. “

The GOLDEN GATE partners Oliver Kolb and Carol von Rautenkranz have founded Musikverlag NAPA Songs.

AMV Talpa will be the partner for administration and exploitation.
AMV Talpa manager Jens-Markus Wegener: "I look forward to the cooperation with Oliver and Carol.

+++Creative strategy of AMV TALPA pays off+++

The Hamburg Music Publisher AMV Talpa continues to bet on creative A&R work in the ever more difficult music market environment.

This steady strategy over the last 2 years seems to pay off now as demonstrated by the chart positions of the last few weeks.

The team of five A&R-consultants and a creative manager could show the following recent successes:

SUBWAY TO SALLY – “Bastard” (Album on Nuclear Blast)

Right on time for the 20th birthday of the German metal label Nuclear Blast,  Jörg Hiller's (Edition Ingram/AMV Talpa) protégés Subway To Sally entered the charts in seventh place with their album "Bastard". The band is currently on a mammoth tour of Germany.
